4 Months Young!

Today we celebrate Charlie's 4 month birthday - can you believe it!  I can't.  And almost 7 weeks of having Charlie home...and he's still with us;)  It's been quite a change having a baby in the house, but it's seriously the best!  Chuck and I cannot stop starring at him and thinking how lucky we are.  And Charlie is pretty lucky to have some cool parents too:)

I'm 4 Months Old!  Yeah!

Does this shirt make me look like Freddy Kruger?

Look, they propped me up against a pillow...

Ahhhhhhhh....they propped me up against a pillow.  Pick me up!

Since the last post we received the green light from the eye doctor that all signs of retinopathy are gone and we do not have to follow-up for a year!  Our pediatrician appointments  have been routine and Charlie's weight continues to increase.  His head (which you will see in pictures:)) and length are going straight up on the growth charts.  His weight however is slow and steady.  I keep hoping to wake and find a giant baby living with us, but we'll let Charlie grow at his own pace.  He's over 6 pounds and almost 20 inches.  Maybe he'll just be super tall and thin....unlike Chuck or I.  HA!

A few more friends stopped by to visit....Matt & Shelly brought Charlie some new books for his library!

Katie & Brent came for dinner....and brought wine.  YUM!

Aunt Abby & Aunt Leah came for a visit!!!!
Aunt Megan did too, but I don't think I have a pic:(  We will see her soon:)

Oh, Charlie started wearing polos, no big deal.

We also had our first long distance car ride to the Quad Cities to celebrate my birthday.  Charlie did great.  Grandma Wendi rode with to make sure Charlie was content in the back seat and that I was driving like a normal person.  One of those things didn't happen;)  While we were back Charlie got to visit a few of our favorite QC places - Arthur's Garden Deli and Von Maur.  I can't wait to take him back in the Spring time and show him where Mommy and Daddy met at Augustana!

Grandpa Joe and Charlie:)

Charlie fits perfectly on Grandpa's "shelf"!

Grandpa showing Charlie his newest car and his garage.
I'm sure they will hang out lots in the garage and get nothing done on the car, but they will watch a lot of COPS and eat candy!

Uncle Jamie stopped by to hold me and feed me...he's the best uncle ever!

Uncle Mike stopped by to hold me too.  Maybe he's the best uncle ever!

I guess Charlie has two best uncles:)  He loves his Uncle Jamie and Uncle Mike!

Aunt Lisa loved holding baby Charlie!

So did cousin Emily....

And Emily's friend Callie:)

Uncle Jamie hosted a party for Charlie and all the Laughlin's came for a visit!
Grandma Jean finally getting to hold baby Charlie!  xoxo

Hopefully Charlie does not end up with our Laughlin nose!

Grandpa Jim and Charlie!

Grandpa Jim and Grandma Leslie:)

Charlie and his Grandmas:)

The Wolfpack in Chopper's Place
They look so serious!

Breaking into the Wolfpack.  I always get my way!

Charlie's honorary Grandma's!  Sandy and Diane:)

I recently started a team for the March of Dimes March for Babies Walk this April downtown.  If you are able to join we would love to have you as part of our team:)  So far the team consists of me, Charlie and Chuck and probably Grandma Wendi.  Please join us, I can't have people think Charlie doesn't have any friends!  Our very clever team name is We Heart Charlie.  Charlie thought of it, not me.

One final very EXCITING update - our friend Meara is finally home!  We cannot be happier and cannot wait to visit.  Sam and Mary had a much tougher rode than us in the NICU, I don't think I could have held it together like they did. Meara is so lucky to have such great parents...and super cute bulldog too:)

Charlie's girlfriend is sooooo cute.  They have be one of those couples that look alike??!!
